Andover, NH – Karin Elisabeth Clough died in the company of her family on June 9, 2026 after living nearly six years with cancer.
Karin was born in New London, NH on February 1, 1965 to William P. Clough III of New London, NH and Marta M. Clough of Stockholm, Sweden. Karin is granddaughter of Dr. William P. Clough, Jr. and Louise B. Clough, also of New London and Cmdr. Olof Melin and Vasti Jarnefelt of Stockholm, Sweden. Karin leaves behind her husband, Kurt Weber and three grown children, Lukas, Finn, and Sofia of East Andover, NH as well as siblings Wendy M.L.L. Clough of Boulder, CO and William P. Clough IV of Denver, CO.
Karin graduated from Holderness School (NH), Dartmouth College (NH) and the University of Tennessee Law School (TN). She was a lifelong teacher, coach, mentor and leader in secondary schools, including Gould Academy (ME), Deerfield Academy (MA), Aga Khan School (Mombasa, Kenya), Bowdoin College (ME), and finally Proctor Academy (NH) where she served many roles, including Assistant Head of School. Karin’s commitment to serving her family, students and colleagues was widely recognized and her impact surely lives on through the lives of the people she served.
Karin’s life was full of adventure and she was a natural leader. She led by example and loved a challenge. She was captain of the women’s hockey team at Dartmouth College, one of the first women to work for the Appalachian Mountain Trail Crew, a parole officer, a lobbyist, and served as an active contributor to the on-going efforts of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) to improve the quality of education at Proctor and at secondary schools generally.
Karin’s family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of generosity during this difficult time. She was remembered fondly during a Celebration of Life in East Andover on August 1, 2026.
