Leicester, NC – Doris Ruth Falvey (Galpin), 82, died on July 21, 2026 at the CarePartners Solace Center in Asheville, NC from an ongoing medical condition. She lived a long, fulfilling life with her loving husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Falvey.
Born on May 18, 1944, Doris lived in Canaan, NH, Lynn, MA, Enfield, NH, and Leicester, NC. She graduated from Canaan High School in 1962. After graduation, Doris married Robert Falvey, of Lynn, MA, where they lived until they built a home on Upper Grafton Road in Canaan in 1974. In 2006, Bob and Doris moved to Leicester, NC, located in the western North Carolina mountains, to escape the brutal New Hampshire winters.
Doris worked several different jobs while living in New Hampshire, including in the Athletic Department at Dartmouth College, where she maintained and issued equipment to Dartmouth College athletes. She also worked at New Hampshire Industries as a receptionist and at Raphael’s Cucina as a waitress. She enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors, camping, motorcycling, and snowmobiling.
Doris is predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Pearl Galpin of Canaan, NH, brothers Frank Galpin of Tucson, AZ, Ralph (Sonny)Galpin of Goshen, NH, Russell Galpin of Hillsboro, NH, and her great-grandson Cole of Glendale, AZ. She is survived by her loving husband Robert Falvey of Leicester, NC, sister Jean Goguen of Boscawen, NH, her children Gloria (Brian)Karl of Peyton, CO and Robert (Lisa)Falvey of Weaverville, NC, her grandchildren Erin (Brian)Francis of Glendale, AZ, Dylan Karl of Colorado Springs, CO, Angela (John)Thompson III of Brentwood, CA, and Jalina (Cody)Swafford of Weaverville, NC, and her great-grandchildren Rowan and Leila Swafford of Weaverville, NC.
