Transportation black hole
As anyone knows who may be older, not drive or have issues that make driving at night unsafe, transportation around the Hanover/Lebanon area is particularly challenging when an ambulance arrival is followed by a discharge from the hospital ER in the wee small hours of the night -between 8:30 PM – 8 AM.
The majority of people might be able to wrangle a relative or friend to pick them up and bring them home but what about those who don’t have access to such flexible individuals for many a reason? Are they expected to camp out in ER or the waiting room and wait until the dawn? On weekends it is just as bad during the day since we have fewer taxis, Ubers or buses servicing the area.
Is there not some way to fulfill this, albeit smaller, but necessary demand for safe transportation home from the ER for those in need of afterhours transportation?
