Learn to properly display flag patches
With July 4th parades and celebrations it is time to again menton an issue that has long been a concern of mine. That is the U.S. flag shoulder patches worn by police, fire and ems personnel. Often they are worn incorrectly.
There are left shoulder flag patches and right shoulder flag patches. They are not interchangeable.
The stars should always be forward on the shoulder patch.
The easy way to remember is to think how a flag is carried in a parade. The stars are forward and attached to the staff with the stripes streaming behind. That is the way it should look on your shoulder.
I urge all to wear our flag proudly but correctly.
