Shirley Mae (Sargent) Dennis

West Lebanon, NH – Shirley Mae (Sargent) Dennis, born February 5, 1931 in Worcester, Massachusetts died peacefully at her home in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 8, 2026. Shirley was an extremely loving, caring, and hard working woman who enjoyed her family and helping others as often as she could. She was a strong woman of the Christian faith. She loved God and her family finds peace knowing she is home with Jesus now. Shirley welcomed all who entered the family with open arms, giving everyone the benefit of the doubt, choosing to see the best in everyone. She had a special sense about her, knowing when something was bothering a person and would do anything in her power to make things better. Shirley spent her life as a housekeeper, homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor. She loved to travel, especially to Maine and Canada, often by motorcycle and always with family. She had a natural green thumb, loved to keep several gardens, fed the song birds, and cooked for loved ones. Shirley enjoyed the ocean, reading her Bible, family gatherings and doting on her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents Lumen Agustus and Agnes Mae (Cook) Sargent, her younger brother Lewis Sargent, and her son-in-law Alan Sprague. She is survived by her devoted and caring husband, Albert Dennis, with whom she shared a wonderful 67 year marriage; her daughters Cheryl (Gutherie) Sprague and Pamela Dennis; her son Raymond Dennis and wife LeeAnn Dennis; her granddaughters Monica (Dennis) Howlett and husband Sidney, Colleen Elder, Naomi (Dennis) Thompson and husband Michael, and Heather Elder; her grandsons Richard Sprague and wife Lynn and Ronald Sprague and girlfriend Jess; her great granddaughters Haley and Ava Agan and Aylani Sprague; her great grandsons Griffin Agan and Caleb and Clayton Sprague; and also several extended family members.
