David Wolcott

Claremont, NH – David Harvey Wolcott, 80, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover, NH. David was born on April 2, 1946 in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada and was adopted by Robert Wolcott and Marjorie (Harvey) Wolcott. He was a resident of Claremont, NH, where he lived most of his life.

David graduated from Stevens High School in Claremont in the class of 1967. He served in the United States Army with the rank of Specialist 4 from January 1968 to August 1970 when he was honorably discharged. For his time in the army, David received the Vietnam National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal. After his service, he worked for the Dartmouth Woolen Mill and Holson Photo in Claremont.

David is survived by his sister Leslie Wolcott Buswell of St. Froid Lake, ME and Northport, FL, a niece Sara (Buswell) Eaton and her daughters Alexa Rae Eaton and Rachel Mae Eaton of Topsham, ME, and a niece Laura (Buswell) Murray, her husband Jay of Keller, TX, and their children Jason Murray, Jonathan McGuire and his family, Rachel (Murray) Foshee and her family, Felicia Murray and her husband, and Melanie (Murray) Bushong and her family; and lifelong friends Sandi and Les St. Pierre.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and travelled to Maine for many years to spend Christmas with the Buswell, Eaton, and Murray families. He lived at the Earl M. Bourdon Centre in Claremont, NH for 24 years and enjoyed friendships with many residents at the retirement center, including Pam Greene.

A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Stringer Funeral Home in Claremont, NH, followed by burial at Mountain View Cemetery.
