WINDSOR โ M&T Bank plans to close its branch in Windsor on June 11.
“We regularly review our branch network to ensure our physical presence is aligned with how customers choose to bank and where we can deliver the greatest value to our communities,” a spokesperson for the bank’s New England operations said in an email Tuesday.
M&T is based in Buffalo, N.Y. It took over operation of the Windsor branch when it acquired People’s United Bank in April 2022.
Employees of the Windsor branch have accepted positions at other branches in Springfield and White River Junction, the spokesperson said.
“We are prepared to work with every impacted customer to ensure a smooth transition and continued access to banking services,” the spokesperson said.
