Local athletes compete at SVL A Championships
Woodstock High’s Elijah Tyrell won the 110-meter hurdles and was second in the 300-meter hurdles at Southern Vermont League A Track and Field Championships on Friday at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, Vt.
For Hartford, David Crocco was second in the discus, and Andrew Huang had a third-place finish in the javelin. Also for Hartford, both the 4 by 100 relay team of Johannis Hinman, Layne Hill, Matthias Schaefier, and Carlos McLeod, and the 4 by 800 team of Elliot Brooks, Leo Snyder-Hamalainen, Elijah Ofstad, and Jaidin Bennett finished third.
For the girls, Hartford’s Sylvia Johnson was second in the 3,000 meters and fourth in the 1,500. Woodstock’s Piper Pauly was third in both the 100 and 200 meters. Hartford’s Rowan Dumont was second in the discus and third in both the shot put and javelin. Scarlett Brooks, Maddie Carbino, Tess Blake-D’Amato, and Kathryn Summarsell finished third in the 4 by 400 for Hartford.
