NORWICH โ State Rep. Rebecca Holcombe announced that she doesn’t intend to run again this year.
Holcombe, D-Norwich, has served two terms representing a district comprising Norwich, Sharon, Strafford and Thetford.
A career educator, Holcombe served as Vermont’s secretary of Education from January 2014 to April 2018. Prior to that she taught in the Mascoma and Dresden school districts, served as principal of Fairlee Elementary School, and helped to create the Rivendell Interstate School District. She also directed the teacher education program at Dartmouth College.
In announcing her decision, Holcombe did not give a reason.
“I will provide additional updates on legislative work in future emails and will proudly work on your behalf until the end of my term in January,” she wrote in a post on the Norwich Listserv.
