Upper Valley athletes compete at Monadnock Twilight Meet
Several local athletes finished first in their events with 20 teams competing at the Monadnock Twilight Meet on Friday at Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, N.H.
For the girls, Faith Norton of Stevens won the 100-meter and 200-meter races, and Georgia Kondi of Mascoma Valley won the shot put and discus. In the boys competition, Barnaby Diehn of Mascoma won the shot put and discus, teammate Reece Yorke won the pole vault, Ayden Hodge of Newport won the javelin, and Justin McGuire of Stevens won the triple jump and was third in the long jump.
Other top finishes: Mascoma โ Sam Joyce (second 100, third 200), Carl Russell (second 3,200), Karson Rogers (third, 1,600), Isabelle Currier (third pole vault) Newport โ Johnny Hooper (second 300 meter hurdles), Aidan Couitt, John Wilkinson, Tristan Hannum, Bryce Palmer (second 4 by 400 relay), Brady Minckler (third discus), Callie Dixon (second shot put, third discus) Stevens โ Kieran Heath (third 400 meters), Audrina Pelton (second discus).
Team scores were not compiled.
