White River Valley girls win Southern Vermont League meet
The White River Valley girls won the weekly Southern Vermont League Track and Field meet at Springfield High School on Tuesday.
Top finishes for the Wildcats included Sadie Armstrong (first 200 meters, second 100 meters), Imari Taylor (first shot put and discus), Cassie Armstrong (first 100 meter hurdles), Olivia Tuller (second shot put and discus), and Mabel Bailey, Joselyn Garrow, Josie Noel, and Sadia Armstrong (second, 4 by 100). Audrey McFarland of Windsor won the 100 meters, the long jump, and was second in the triple jump, with teammate Olivia Dube finishing second in the 800 meters. Aven Westbrook of Woodstock was second in the 1,500 meters. For the White River boys, Jack Hughes won the 100 meters and 300-meter hurdles, George Roda was first in the 800 and 1,500 meters, and the 4 by 100 relay team of Matt Bangerten, Isaac Kinsley, Allen Wedge, and Hughes finished first. Wedge also won the long jump and was second in the triple jump. For Sharon Academy, Noah Malloy won the 200 meters and was second in the 100 with teammate Phoenix Colburn second in the 110 meter hurdles and 1,500 meters.
