Hanover voters deserve Article 7 honesty
Ahead of Tuesday’s election, Hanover voters deserve a fair description of Article 7. The author of that petitioned article, Randy Mudge, has given us anything but.
In an April 28th letter to the Valley News, Mudge presents Article 7 as a tool to alleviate the housing shortage in our town.
But in an emailed statement to The Dartmouth published on May 6, Mudge acknowledges, “Mathematically, there will be fewer potential units to rent,” if the article passes. This is why the town planning board voted 5-1 recommending residents say no to Randy’s proposal.
I’ve listened to Mudge’s fear-mongering campaign in support of Article 7 in person multiple times. It is disingenuous and deceives voters into believing they can support both Article 7 and building affordable housing in Hanover.
It’s important residents know the two efforts are mutually exclusive.
If you believe we can build a better and more equitable town, vote no for Article 7.
