Pauline “Bickford” Laughlin

Enfield, NH – Pauline “Bickford” Laughlin, 90, of Enfield, NH, passed away on April 24, 2026 in Sunapee, NH. Born on April 28, 1935, in Gilford, NH, Pauline grew up in Glover, VT. She graduated from Lyndon State Teachers College and went on to work as a teacher in the Mascoma School District for more than 40 years. When she started teaching her third generation of students, she knew it was time to retire. She took this opportunity to travel to many places with her friends.

Pauline chose to never get her driver’s license and instead walked to the school each day, however that didn’t keep her from being a founding member of the Enfield Fast Squad (Yes, she could be seen running to the station to make the ambulance).

She was known for her generous acts of service, including countless hours of volunteering for various organizations such as Meals on Wheels and the Lioness Club. Her other true passion was gardening, not a season would pass where she didn’t spend countless hours in her garden, insisting that family and friends come view the progress she had made, always revealing such a beautiful site.

She is survived by her three children Mark Laughlin (Karen), Sue Butman (Ian), and Ellen Passage (Chris). Along with her three grandchildren Skye Alexander, Daniele Gonzalez, Hailey Butman, and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by granddaughter Mia Follensbee, and countless other family members.

Calling hours for Pauline will be held at Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, NH on Thursday, April 30 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity in Pauline’s name. An online guest book is available to leave Pauline’s family a message of condolence by visiting www.rickerfuneralhome.com
