Wealthy politicians disregard our interests
There are many dystopian movies (and books, tv series, etc.) in which humans become the play things, the toys, for monsters or aliens, or for the sick and twisted. Unfortunately, the sick and twisted live among us. Indeed, many of them run our country.
You see, one of the big problems with uber-wealthy politicians is that the game of government is just that for them, a game; the outcomes of their ministrations have no bearing upon them, only upon the toys that comprise the game pieces – us.
And while we suffer, they go home to their mansions in the hills and look down upon their poor broken toys with dismissive contempt.ย Trump of course is the quintessential example of this. For this sick and twisted man, the entire world and its peopleย are toys, play things, things to be discarded and thrown away when he loses interest or gets bored, or worse still has a temper tantrum.
We would be well-served in the future to consider the importance of electing officials who live, and who toil, along side us. To them, we are not toys. We are sisters and brothers.ย
