Mascoma athletes stand out at Winnisquam meet

Key athletes: Sprinter Sam Joyce won the 100 and 200 meter races, and Barnaby Diehn added first place finishes in the shot put and discus to lead the Mascoma boys to a fifth place finish among 12 teams at Saturday’s track and field meet at Winnisquam High School. Also for the boys, Silas Jukosky tied a school record and placed third in the pole vault, clearing 9 feet, and was third in the long jump. Ian Massecar was fourth in the long jump, and Nate McAndrew placed fifth in the javelin for Mascoma. The Royals Isabelle Currier was third in the high jump, and Audrey Webber took fifth in the shot put. Mascoma’s 4 by 800 relay team of Currier, Tori Petty, Avery Peck, and Penny Roman finished fourth.
