WHITE RIVER JUNCTION โ Windsor County Sheriff Ryan Palmer is facing additional charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and solicitation of prostitution, Vermont State Police announced on Thursday.
The new charges against Palmer allege that he paid a woman โon multiple occasions to participate in sex acts, and that he sent unsolicited sexual material to another woman,โ police said in a news release.
The women have come forward since Palmer pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of obstruction of justice, two felony counts of aggravated stalking with a deadly weapon, a felony count of lewd and lascivious conduct and two misdemeanor counts of soliciting prostitution in January, police said.
Detectives submitted a new affidavit in support of additional charges against Palmer, including lewd and lascivious conduct, as a result of the months-long investigation into Palmerโs alleged sexual misconduct, which initially stemmed from a July 2025 investigation into the Windsor County Sheriffโs Departmentโs finances.
Police stated that Palmer is expected to be arraigned on the new charges at his next appearance in Rutland Superior Court, which is scheduled for April 24 at 1 p.m.ย
No additional details are available at this time, police said.
Palmer’s attorney Dan Sedon was not available to comment on Thursday afternoon.
The investigation into Palmerโs alleged sexual misconduct remains active.
