The Harford boys and White River Valley girls took first place at the first outdoor track meet of the season on Tuesday at Bellows Falls High School.
With eight teams competing in five events for the girls, White River Valley finished with 35.5 points, followed by Sharon Academy with 20 and Thetford Academy with 23.
Top finishes in the five events included Piper Pauly of Woodstock (1st, 100 meters), Sylvia Johnson of Hartford (1st, 1,500 meters), Addison Isham of White River (1st, 100 meter hurdles), Kira White of Hartford (1st, high jump) and Scarlett Brooks, Sylvia Johnson, Aria Smith, Jaxon Dalpra of Hartford (1st, 4 by 400 relay), Second places finishes included Cassandra Armstrong of White River (100 meters), Olivia Dube of Windsor (1,500 meters) and Lilian Miller of Thetford Academy (100 meter hurdles)
For the four events in the boys meet, won by Hartford with 31 points, Theford’s Sebastian Perdrizet won the 100 meters, Sharon Academy’s Phoenix Colburn won the 110-meter hurdles, Samuel Armstrong of White River took first in the pole vault and William White, Asher White, Andrew Champagne and George Roda of White River won the 4 by 800 relay. Elijah Tyrell of Woodstock was second in the 110 hurdles.
