Articles of note: At Town Meeting on Saturday, voters will be asked whether to appropriate $20,000 toward building a sand and salt shed and $50,000 toward future renovations of the town office building, both in the Capital Projects Fund.  

In a Special Town Meeting vote on April 25, voters will decide by ballot whether to allow the Selectboard to appoint a town treasurer, and separately, if non-residents of Vershire who live in Vermont may be appointed to the office of treasurer.

Contested races: There are no contested races for Selectboard this year.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed general expenses budget is $481,000, up from the budget of $438,000 voters approved last year. The proposed highway budget is $764,000, up from the budget of $578,000 voters approved last year. The proposed Fire and Rescue budget is $85,000, up from the budget of $71,000 voters approved last year. Additionally, the proposed budget for Law Enforcement Contract is $54,000. The proposed budget for the Capital Equipment Fund is $70,000, plus $30,000 for the Capital Paving fund.  

When, where and how to vote: The postponed floor meeting will take place Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m. in the Town Center, located at 27 Vershire Center Road. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the election of officers and voting on budgets.

Polls will be open for Special Town Meeting voting on the treasurer questions on Saturday, April 25 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., and an informational meeting will be held at the Town Center on Thursday, April 23 at 6 p.m.
