Democrats and Republicans

Today as I was re-setting the toilet paper roll that someone had put on wrong (so that the paper came over the top of the roll and hung down in front instead of behind), it dawned on me that the world is divided into two parties who, like me, approach toilet paper as rightly or wrongly hung, I also realized there was someone in my family I could not trust.
While sitting there, I recalled a childhood connection I had made thinking of “T.P.” not as toilet paper but as “tea party” and associating going #2 with thumbing my nose at England and King George. Funny about memories and associations.

I put the roll on the tank standing up on its end after that, to foment a revolution and to laugh at my foolishness.

What better place to reflect on the current state of affairs than the porcelain throne? What better way to change our minds than seeing the commonality of toilet paper in its deployment rather than its display on the roll holder?
