WOODSTOCK โ€” During Tuesday’s village floor meeting, voters approved a proposed village budget of $1.8 million, with $840,000 to be raised by taxes.ย

The bulk of the budget, $1.16 million, goes to fund the Police Department.

Last year, voters approved a $1.63 million budget.

In uncontested races decided in ballot voting Tuesday, Stephen Stuntz ran for a three-year term as Village trustee and Jamie Fox ran for a two-year term.

Of the 835 voters on the village checklist, 43, or about 5%, cast ballots and 25, or about 3%, attended the in-person meeting.

The Village Trustees and the Selectboard are continuing to discuss the possibility of merging the village and the town. A “merger analysis working group” is on the Selectboard’s agenda for its Thursday meeting at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.
