ORANGE — At last Wednesday’s floor meeting, voters approved an article allowing the town moderator to appoint a committee made up of five residents to study the salaries of town officers and employees within the next year.
The committee will then be asked to deliver a report with recommendations and potential warrant articles for Town Meeting 2027.
Voters added $2,500 to the proposed operating budget of $429,400, to approve a budget of $432,000. Last year, voters approved a $414,000 operating budget.
The floor meeting drew 36, or 16%, of the town’s 221 registered voters.
In uncontested races, voters elected Aaron Allen and Tamara Fairbanks to the Selectboard in ballot voting on Tuesday.
Allen’s term is three years, while Fairbanks’ is one.
