Community members “Honk and Wave” for peace and democracy

Community members from Bradford and surrounding areas gathered along the roadside in front of Valley Floors in Bradford last Saturday for a peaceful “Honk and Wave” demonstration, holding signs and greeting passing drivers in a visible show of solidarity against war, in support of immigrant communities, and in opposition to the current administration’s policies.

Organizers expressed deep gratitude to everyone who participated — both those who stood out with signs and those who drove by, honking and waving in encouragement.

“The support from the community was clear and energizing,” organizers said. “Every honk and wave reminded us that many of our neighbors share our concerns and stand with us for peace, democracy and to uphold the constitution .”

Participants highlighted opposition to ongoing wars, the actions of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and what they described as a dangerous and unaccountable administration in the White House.

The gathering was peaceful, welcoming, and filled with moments of connection between demonstrators and passersby. Organizers say the strong response from drivers and pedestrians alike shows that many people in the community are in support.

The Indivisible group plans to continue the demonstration next weekend. Community members are invited to join the next Honk and Wave on Saturday, March 14, from 11am until noon.

Organizers encourage anyone who supports peace, human rights, and democracy to come out with a sign or simply stand in solidarity.
