‘Welcome the stranger’
Just like this present administration, the ICE appreciator’s letter is full of lies.
One: borders were never “wide open.“
Two: most immigrants, whether documented or not, are NOT criminals
Three: many of those who are being detained or deported have documentation and the documented status is being ignored.
Four: the process for citizenship is a long road. Now those that show up at immigration to follow “the proper channels“ are arrested, detained or deported.
Five: many immigrants have indeed been “properly vetted“ and are arrested and detained anyway.
Six: the agents this letter writer thanks seem more like bigoted thugs out of the ranks of the KKK and the proud boys. They don’t wear their badges with honor or integrity.
And he thinks that the cruelty and violence these lawless hooligans engender Is a “job that needs to be done”?
