THETFORD — Vermont State Police has reopened the southbound lanes of Interstate 91 in Thetford after they were closed due to a vehicle crash.
The closure, which was near Exit 14 in Thetford, was announced shortly after 9 a.m. and may last up to two hours, according to an announcement from Vermont State Police.
“Specific details are not yet available, updates will be provided as appropriate,” according to police.
Early Thursday morning the National Weather Service’s Burlington office issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” alert for multiple Vermont counties, including Windsor. Up to three inches of “light snowfall” could hit the region today.
“A short period of widespread snow this morning will cause some areas of slippery
travel,” according to the alert. “This snow will be followed by scattered snow showers and
possible snow squalls that could impact the evening commute.”
