Article of note: One article asks whether voters want the town to accept a gift of land located on Tucker Mountain, to be conveyed to the town by the Friends of Tucker Mountain or another intermediary purchaser. It also involves granting a conservation easement to a qualified conservation organization to enable release of the existing easement by the Land and Conservation Fund at the so-called Ski Tow property on Halls Lake Road in Newbury. It also asks for the town’s permission to sell it after the easement ends.ย

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed general fund budget is $789,000, which is a $50,000 increase from last year. The proposed highway budget is $915,000, which is a $5,000 increase from last year. 

When, where and how to vote: Voting will be by Australian ballot on Tuesday, March 3 at Newbury Village Hall in Newbury Village. Polls open at 10 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
