Articles of note: Voters will be asked to consider a new three-year contract with the service staff union. Approving the contract would add a little over $28,000 to the district’s spending.

Contested races: Incumbent members of the Hanover School Board Tara Velozo and Renee Sullivan are running for three-year and two-year terms, respectively. Sullivan is unopposed, but Velozo is opposed by Christopher Rivet.

Budgets and spending articles: The nearly $17 million budget carries an increase of less than 3%, the service staff contract and a $75,000 appropriation from the Bridgman Fund, “in order to afford additional advantages to the students of the District not provided by taxes,” are the only funding articles on the warrant.

When, where and how to vote: Discussion phase, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28 in the Hanover High School auditorium. Voting on all articles is on Tuesday, March 3. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Richmond Middle School Gym.
