SWIMMING

At a five-team swim meet on Wednesday at the CCBA in Lebanon, Hanover swimmers qualified for more events at next month’s NHIAA Division II state meet. Hanover won the meet, which also included Lebanon, Stevens, Kearsarge, and Plymouth Regional. 

Landes Hough, Miles Vogt, Alan Zhang, Alex Chen, Haoyi Liu, Miles Molina and Nate Holt for the Hanover boys made qualifiying times and the Bearsโ€™ Addy Cesanek, Bea Bonholdt-Collins and Ruby Lintner qualified for the girls.

Lebanon’s Hailey Belardo won the girls 50-yard free while Hanover had firsts by Cesanek and Holt (girls, boys, 200-yard free), Hough (boys, 50 free), Bornholdt-Collins, Vogt (girls, boys 100-yard butterfly), Liu (boys, 100 free), Grace Staats (500-yard free), Cesanek, Chen (girls, boys 100-yard backstroke), Vogt (100-yard breaststroke).

Hanover has one more meet on Feb. 3 at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center before the state meet on Feb. 14th at the University of New Hampshire.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Hartford 50, Rutland 40

Key athletes: Kole Fotion (16 points); Ryan Murphy (11 points); Rex Banning (9 points)

Key moment: Hartford led 26-21 at halftime.

Key moment: Oxbow outscored Northfield by 16 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

SKI JUMPING

Key athletes: Caroline Chor (1st); Harris Bushell (3rd); Hayden Clapp (4th); Julian Hart (11th) led Hanover to victory. Timothy Tourville of Mascoma was 7th and Lebanon’s Helena Mielcarz was 4th among the girls.

Key moment: Chor had the long jump of the day at 41 meters. Second-year jumper Hart had a PR jump of 31.5 meters.
