Changing road conditions and persistent snowfall over nearly 36 hours meant multiple drivers struggled to keep their tires on the road.
New Hampshire State Police reported Tuesday that it responded to 46 crashes and 77 vehicles off the road between 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon and 9 p.m. Monday night.
Seven of those crashes led to injuries, police said, and they reminded drivers that traveling slower and giving other vehicles extra space is key to avoiding incidents.
Speed limits were reduced on all the stateโs major interstates, along with major state routes in the southern half of the state.
Accumulation from the storm totaled more than 14 inches in Concord as of Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The prolonged stretch of winter precipitation from Sunday morning through Monday night led to changing road conditions throughout the storm.
While the bulk of snow landed Sunday night into Monday, flakes kept falling throughout Monday, adding a handful of inches to local storm totals. Combined with frigid temperatures overnight, roads remained slick on Tuesday morning commutes.
