Hanoverโ€™s Deeb, Newportโ€™s Dixon take firsts

Hanoverโ€™s Aria Deeb won the 1,000 and 1,500 meters and Newportโ€™s Callie Dixon took first in the shot put at the New Hampshire Winter Track and Field meet at Plymouth State University on Saturday.

Deeb, Alice Bell, Grace Stewart and Lou Henson of Hanover won the 4×800 relay, and the Newport boys 4×800 relay team of Alex Couitt, Tristan Hannum, John Wilkinson and Bryce Palmer finished second. Alexander Collins, Oliver Collins, Grayson Lyall and Ethan Welder of Hanover were third in their 4×800.

Other top finishes included Palmer, second in the 600 meters; Oliver Collins, third in the 1,000 meters; Alexander Collins, second in the 1,500 meters; Grace Stewart, third in the 1,500 meters; and Isiah Nash Mercado of Newport, fourth in the shot put.

Hanover and Newport tied for seventh among 13 teams. The Hanover girls were fourth and the Newport girls 10th in a field of 12 teams.

Perdrizet leads Thetford boys at Vermont meet

At the Vermont Track and Field meet in Burlington on Sunday, the Thetford boys finished first among 18 Division II teams and third among all schools on the strength of four first-place finishes by Panther junior Sebastian Perdrizet.

Perdrizet won the 55-meter dash, the 300 meters, the high jump and the long jump. Teammate Emmett Terry was fourth in the 55 meters and fifth in the 300 meters, and Daniel Mann of Thetford finished fourth in the 300 meters and second in the 600 meters. Also for Thetford was Oliver Emery (fourth, 1,000 meters, second one mile). The Hartford girls finished fourth among 21 teams with strong showing by its relay teams.

Thetford boys, Hartford girls relay teams place second

Thetfordโ€™s 4×200 boys relay team of Daniel Mann, Emmett Terry, David Thaxton and Owen Goodrich was second at the fourth Vermont Indoor Track and Field meet in Burlington on Dec. 31. Also taking second was the Hartford girls 4×400 team of Scarlett Brooks, Maddie Carbino, August Fallon and Kathryn Summarsell.

For White River Valley, Jack Hughes was third in the long jump and teammate George Roda was fourth in the 1,000 meters and sixth in the one mile. Imari Taylor won the shot put for the Wildcats, and Addison Isham was fifth in the girls high jump. Thetfordโ€™s Oliver Emery was third in the two mile and Oxbowโ€™s Casey Wiedrick was sixth in the girls two mile.

In team scores, Theford was sixth, White River Valley eighth and Hartford 12th among 25 boys teams. On the girls side, with 23 schools, White River Valley was ninth, Hartford 13th, Oxbow and Thetford were tied for 20th.
