HAVERHILL — A 76-year-old man died on Dec. 23 after his vehicle went off Dartmouth College Highway, according to a news release from Haverhill Police.
Daniel Kirkwood, the driver, is believed to have suffered a medical emergency before his vehicle went off the road in the vicinity of 2106 Dartmouth College Highway in Haverhill.
At the scene at about 6:50 p.m. on Dec. 23, first responders located a vehicle on its roof off the northbound lane down an embankment.
Kirkwood received medical treatment at the scene, but was pronounced dead due to “medical complications.”
In addition to Kirkwood’s medical emergency, the preliminary police investigation suggests speed and road conditions due to the weather may have contributed to the collision.
