LEBANON โ The nonprofit planning to construct a residential substance use treatment center for mothers and their children near Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center has hired its first executive director, according to a Tuesday news release.

Bethany Cottrell will start as the first executive director of the Enfield-based nonprofit Families Flourish Northeast in mid-December.
“Bethanyโs nonprofit leadership coupled with her experience with trauma-informed womenโs services made her the right fit to lead Families Flourish,” Kailene Jones, the organization’s project specialist, said.
A five-member search committee selected Cottrell from a pool of more than 60 applicants.
She previously served as the founding executive director of Brigid’s House of Hope, a New Hampshire safe house for adult survivors of human trafficking.
Cottrell will lead the nonprofit as it continues efforts to construct and open a 12-bed residential treatment center for mothers and their children in Lebanon. The project has been in the works since 2020.
This year, the nonprofit secured a long-term lease with Dartmouth Health to build on a Mount Support Road property and the Lebanon Planning Board approved construction plans.
So far, the nonprofit has secured $5 million towards its $9.5 million construction budget. The facility is expected to open in 2027.
