When i was a little boy, 7 or 8 years old (I am 75 now), I was deeply involved with Jesus Christ. When I would lay myself down to sleep, I would say dozens, if not hundreds of Our Fathers and Hail Marys (the Blessed Virgin Mary moved my soul).
I feel that all those prayers made me special somehow. Not that I wouldnโt get lost in the pursuit of Maya (the worldly acquisition of possessions). I did and I do. But those prayers instilled in me a life long yearning to see the world as a better place to be.
When i look around at the name calling and the Us-and-Themism that we live by and the disregard for Mother Earth and her creatures, it tugs at me.
If you want love, give love. If you want understanding, be understanding. If you want peace, give peace. If God loves you so to give us His only son, how much does he love you?
What kind of world do you need? One filled with compassion and understanding or one filled with the whirring and clicks of soulless machines? Think about it. God loves you.
