NEWBURY, Vt. — The town has lifted water use restrictions for village residents.

Recent rain, as well as the changing season, have replenished Newbury Village’s water supply, Newbury Water Operator Sam Calley wrote in a Thursday post on the Newbury Listserv.

“We always advocate for conservation, but village water customers should feel free to use water normally as before the drought,” Calley wrote in the post.

Drought conditions led the town to implement water restrictions in August.

The majority of Orange and Windsor counties remain in an “extreme” drought, according to a U.S. Drought Monitor map published Thursday.
