PLAINFIELD โ A missing hunter was found dead off River Road over the weekend.
At about 7 p.m. on Saturday, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department received a report of a missing hunter, according to a news release from Fish & Game. The hunter went deer hunting early Saturday morning and did not return after dark.
Fish and Game Conservation officers, Plainfield Fire Department, Plainfield Police and fellow hunters responded to the area to help search.
At about 7:45 p.m., the hunter’s body was located in the woods off River Road, according to the news release. It appears the individual suffered a medical emergency.
The body was carried out of the woods and back to the road at 9 p.m.
The name of the hunter is being withheld until family and friends have been notified.
