I have visited the new space at Hopkins Center. Very impressive. I wonder, sometimes, what I could have done if I had that much money to spend.

But what has been lost? I moved to Hanover in 1968, a junior at Hanover High. I somehow got in with the right group and they showed me the way to get on the roof of the Hopkins Center, right where the new addition is. Even during the day, nobody paid much attention to a few teenagers hanging around. There is much to be said for slowly easing your head over the high roof at the front entrance. I was always surprised nobody looked up at us. I’m not sure our little secret even lasted another year, before being blocked.

I salute the other members, survivors, of the class of 1969. I never thought I would be able to say I have been to our 55th class reunion.
