Women’s soccer makes Ivy League tournament
In its penultimate game of the regular season on Sunday, the Big Green hit the road to take on Ivy League rival Yale and came away with a 1-0 win, punching their ticket to the Ivy League tournament. Hailey Rorick scored the game-winning goal for Dartmouth on a penalty kick at 87:40.
Dartmouth qualified for the Ivy League tournament, which began in 2023, for the first time.
The squad led by third-year Head Coach Taylor Schram has been on a tear this season. They improved to 8-3-4 overall and 3-1-2 in the Ivy with Sunday’s win. Dartmouth’s three conference wins are the most it has had in a season since 2018, when it had four.
The Big Green have also picked up some historic wins in 2025. Not only did they defeat Harvard on the road for the first time in two decades in September, but they also had their first win over Columbia in 11 years earlier this month.
One of the standouts that have made this season possible is Stephanie Lathrop. Lathrop leads the Big Green in goals with seven and assists with four. Maeve Theobald and Lykke Ihrfelt have also been good at finding the back of the net for Dartmouth, with each having four goals this season.
Defensively, the Big Green’s goalkeeping duo of Ola Goebel and Paige Knoth has been strong. Goebel has a goals against average of just 0.35 while Knoth’s is at 0.77.
The Big Green will look to end their regular season on a high note when they welcome Cornell to town on Saturday.
Women’s hockey earns first win of the season
On Friday, the Big Green welcomed a top-10-ranked team in ECAC foe Colgate for their home opener and came out with a 4-2 victory. Cally Dixon scored twice in the matchup, one of which was an empty-netter, while Shae Messner and Sydney Putrah also found the back of the net. Michaela Hesová had 34 saves.
Unfortunately for Dartmouth, it could not keep the momentum going and dropped its next game on Saturday against another ECAC rival and a top-five-ranked team, Cornell, 5-0 at home.
Dartmouth is now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
Football picks up two Ivy League honors
Senior defensive back Tyson Grimm and sophomore defensive back No’Koi Maddox were recognized for their contributions to Dartmouth’s 49-3 drubbing of the Columbia Lions on Friday.
Grimm was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week after his performance that included a 75-yard pick-six. Maddox was named the conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week for his play, which was highlighted by a blocked punt and subsequent 19-yard return for a touchdown.
Equestrians win season opener
On Sunday, the Big Green hosted Centenary and came away with a 7-3 win. Samantha Takacs, Cassidy Exner, and Grace Russo won in the individual fence. Takacs and Exner, along with Lucinda Exner and Camilla Jerng, had wins in the flat.
Women’s tennis competes at Ivy League Invitational
On Friday, the first day of the Harvard-hosted event, two Big Green athletes, Lauren Han and Alexandra Orlins, reached the singles quarterfinals.
Han picked up wins against Yale (6-3, 6-2) and Penn (7-6 (4), 6-4), while Orlins defeated Columbia (6-2, 6-3) and Cornell (7-6 (5), 6-3, 10-6).
Orlins advanced to the semifinals with a day two win against Brown (6-3, 6-4), while Han suffered a loss to Harvard (7-6 (5), 6-4). Orlins ended up falling to Yale (6-4, 7-5) on day three.
Open and women’s sailing finishes in the top 10 of three regattas
The Big Green finished second at the Urn Trophy hosted by Harvard, fifth at the Schell Trophy hosted by MIT, and eighth at the Nickerson Trophy hosted by Tufts over the weekend. Dartmouth also closed the fall season atop the fall New England performance ranking.
Field hockey splits latest matchups
After losing its last two, Dartmouth traveled to Ithaca, N.Y., for a battle with Cornell. The Big Green’s losing streak was extended to three as they fell to the Big Red, 5-1, on Friday. Ella Bowman scored the lone goal for Dartmouth.
But on Sunday, the Big Green stopped their losing streak, defeating Colgate 2-1 on the road in overtime. Katherina Cohen scored during the matchup on an assist from Olivia Galiotos, while Riley Dumigan had the game-winner.
Women’s rugby gets back on track
After dropping its second game of the season to Lindenwood, 12-5, the Big Green got back to their winning ways when they hosted Brown on Saturday. Dartmouth earned a commanding 32-14 victory on senior day.
Jordynn LeBeau, Lauren Cheng, Annie Henrich, Paola Arredondo Almeida and Katelyn Walker were among the members of the Big Green who scored a try in the matchup.
Dartmouth, 5-2 overall and 4-2 in conference play, will now turn its focus to an NIRA semifinals matchup on Nov. 15.
Men’s soccer drops second consecutive game
Dartmouth has lost two games in a row after Penn visited Hanover on Saturday and won, 2-0. The Big Green are now 3-6-3 overall and 2-3 in the Ivy.
Women’s volleyball loses third straight game
The Big Green visited Harvard on Saturday and were defeated 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 9-25, 22-25). Kauany Gutz had her 700th kill in the bout. Maddie LaFata got her 500th.
Dartmouth is now 5-13 overall and 2-6 in the Ivy.
