Our nation was founded on some pretty lofty and hope-inspiring ideals — freedom, equality, rule by the people. The Trump Administration has stripped these ideals of their goodness and power and replaced them with greed, cruelty, lies and rule by one man.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, millions of people showed up to demonstrate their frustration and their opposition to Trump’s “government by the wealthy and powerful” policies.
The Republican Party told America this would be a “hate America” rally organized and attended by violent left-wing terrorists paid by George Soros. What a laughable and pathetic claim!

In Claremont, 151 community members gathered Saturday morning. They were our neighbors, not antifa (whatever that is), who clearly and loudly proclaimed their love for our America, not Trump’s. No one was paid, but came because they fear that we are losing our country.

The atmosphere in Claremont was upbeat, positive, and definitely peaceful. Nationwide, there were no reports of protest-related arrests or violence. We must continue to show that we love America and the high-minded, democratic ideals upon which it was founded.
