On Jan. 19, 2025, we went to bed In Bedford Falls and on Jan. 20 we woke up in Pottersville. The ensuing nine months have only deepened that illusion.
George Bailey drowned trying to rescue Clarence the angel from the river. Clarence never got his wings. His punishment for causing George to drown is to spend eternity polishing little silver bells.
Nick the bartender now runs a chain of casinos for Potter. George’s wife had to go to work as a chambermaid in one of Potter’s hotels to make ends meet and now she has to diligently fight off Potter’s advances.
Potter took over the savings and loan and turned it into a crypto clearinghouse. Uncle Billy was hung from a lamp post as an example to their employees.
Life in the former Bedford Falls is not so wonderful now. The once good citizens of that little burg have been corrupted by Potter’s empty promises. This is not just a fever dream, it’s our real life national nightmare.
