Most are aware of the difficulty surrounding the Claremont School District’s financial crisis. Obviously, it is a serious situation, but it isn’t the only important thing occurring in Claremont.
There will be a crucial City Council election on Nov. 4, one that will determine the future course of the city. Do we want to to go forward and thrive, or do we want to go backward and stagnate? Do we want a city with vision and optimism, or do we want a city that’s stuck in the past?
There are five candidates in contested seats that are endorsed by the community-driven, nonpartisan group, Claremont CARES: Molly Tremblay (Ward 1, write in), William Greenrose (Ward 2), Chris Irish (Ward 3), Chris Cogswell (at large), and Brian Zutter (at large). These are the people who are hoping to make Claremont’s future bright, by being laser-focused on listening to citizen concerns and doing what’s in the best interest of the city and it’s citizens.
If you are a resident of Claremont, please don’t sit this election out! Vote for these candidates who will listen thoughtfully, act with integrity, treat people fairly and handle conflicting views with maturity.
