I am writing as a constituent of Sen. Peter Welch to ask why he voted to shut down the government. He supported adding $1.5 trillion to the national debt, which is approaching $40 trillion. He voted to continue health care for illegal aliens who broke the law entering our country. The bill he voted against also had $50 billion for rural hospital, which I guess you have forgotten Vermont is a rural state.

Did he vote this way because the Democratic party calls all the shots on these votes? Has he ever voted against a tax increase or spending bill?

I take great exception to him wanting to give “free healthcare” to illegal aliens who have never paid a dime into the system that is supposed to be for American citizens. I am in the process of getting cataract surgery. I have Medicare and I also have a supplemental plan. Guess what? In order to have my vision corrected I will need to pay $2,000 to $3,000 out of pocket. Any chance of a US citizen getting help? Or is the money only for the people that entered our country by breaking the law?

I would like a response soon since he voted to destroy our country, not make it flourish.
As someone who has served the state of Vermont close to 45 years in law enforcement it is times like these that I am ashamed to say I live in Vermont.
