White River Junction, VT – Steven Hoisington, 74, of White River passed away on October 2, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, after a short illness. He was born August 15, 1951, in Hanover, NH, the son of Freeman and Maxine Hoisington. He grew up in Thetford, later lived in Ryegate, and for the past 14 years he had lived with his aunt, Janice Lightcap, in White River. He was a graduate of Thetford Academy, Class of 1969. After graduation, he went to work at Wings Markets and worked there for over 50 years.
Steve enjoyed gardening and had over 200 different daylilies, playing Bingo, following Thetford basketball games, raised show goats that won many ribbons, and loved Siamese cats. He had a great sense of humor!
He is survived by sisters, Cynthia Fraser of South Ryegate, VT and Charlene Bourgeois of West Fairlee, VT; and a brother, Timothy (Tina) Hoisington of Orford, NH. He is also survived by aunt Janice Lightcap of White River, VT, aunt Gretchen (Steve) Hadlock of Plainfield, NH, several nieces and nephews, cousins, many friends, and his beloved Siamese cat named IZZY. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Cheryl Ann Braudis of Canaan, NH.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 11AM at the Blue Mountain Cemetery, Witherspoon Road, Ryegate, VT.
