Farmers in New Hampshire and Vermont are concerned about the weather/climate, employment and actively need support from the state and federal representatives on these issues.
This letter is a direct appeal to lawmakers in both states to attend a Connecticut River Watershed Bi-state Agricultural Meeting on Oct. 24 in Walpole, N.H., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Connecticut River Joint Commission and the Connecticut River Farmers Alliance are hosting this conversation to help the states manage the future of farming in the river valley with direct support from their representatives.
Legislators and leadership from the Twin States have been invited. Supporting our farmers in NH/VT is critical for our law makers to understand, and by attending this event, it will broaden and deepen their understanding of how to structure government for the benefit of both groups.
We urge this group of influential invitees to attend and take time to listen to their constituents and have a dialogue with farmers.
