Leslie Burt McEwen
Palm Coast, FL – Leslie Burt McEwen, a beautiful person and wonderful
wife, passed away on September 18, 2025 at her home in Palm Coast,
Florida.
Leslie was born as Leslie Orcutt Burt on March 28, 1949, at Alice Peck
Day Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, New Hampshire to Roger and Elizabeth
Burt. Graduating from Hanover High School in 1968, she received an
associate degree in retailing from Green Mountain College, Vermont.
Downhill skiing and field hockey were some of Leslie’s early passions.
She loved boating at the family summer home on Mink Island in Lake
Wentworth, New Hampshire and horseback riding throughout New England
with family and friends. She loved crafting, including wreaths of
flowers, evergreens, sea glass, and seashells. She created the most
beautiful, braided rugs that one could imagine. On New Years Eve in
1985, Leslie married Ronald McEwen of Fulton, New York at the historic
First Baptist Church in Lebanon, New Hampshire. It was a party to
remember into the late evening hours at the Hanover Inn.
Leslie is predeceased by both parents, Roger and Elizabeth Burt, and
older brother Jerry Burt of Plainfield, New Hampshire. She is survived
by her husband Ron McEwen, sisters Sandra Dickson of Bradford, Vermont
and Niki Greene of East Greenwich, Rhode Island.
Leslie was a life force that was hard not to fall in love with. She
was so special, kind, radiant, and full of love. I was blessed to have
her in my life; she was my rock, and I loved her thoroughly and
unconditionally. Her presence lit up every room and her warmth touched
everyone who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and
love will always sustain us, and her love will always remain in our
hearts. Rest in peace my sweet little girl, you will always be
remembered with love.
Expect a celebration of life in the Upper Valley in the spring of
2026.
