WELLS RIVER — A 69-year-old man from Concord, Vt., died in a motorcycle crash in Newbury on Friday afternoon.
Tracy Mart was driving a 2020 Tri Glide Ultra Harley Davidson east on Route 302 near P & H Truck Stop at about 3:30 p.m. when a 2020 Indian Roadmaster in front of the Harley slowed to allow a truck to turn into P & H, Vermont State Police said in a news release.
Mart was ejected from his motorcycle after colliding with the Roadmaster, driven by Steven Staniszewski, 72, of Stevensville, Maryland.
Mart was unresponsive when first responders arrived and in spite lifesaving efforts, emergency medical services pronounced him dead at the scene, state police said.
Staniszewski was uninjured in the crash.
The crash is under active investigation, but neither speed nor impairment appear to be contributing factors, the release said.
