Recent news reported local murders, knife attacks and a murder-suicide. Harm or loss to human life is a tragedy; law enforcement investigates, news outlets report and the community is saddened and also fears.
In some cases, support and access to health care seemed to play an important role within these tragedies. Such as the reported murder suicide, the knife attacks and a murder with a suspect still at large.
In reading the news reports of these tragedies, I’m left with a sense of grief, loss, worry and a feeling of vulnerability.
Access and support of the local health care system, Dartmouth Health’s flagship, aka “the Emerald City,” is taking an under the radar role in these tragedies. Why? They should be speaking out, taking action on our behalf. Why aren’t they?
