President Trump has claimed a crime-wave emergency exists which authorizes him to deploy armed National Guard and active duty military personnel to patrol the streets of our cities. It is only a matter of time before one or more American citizens are gunned down by inadequately trained and poorly led troops, just as it happened at Kent State University in 1970. The killing of four students there created an outrage that eventually culminated in ending the Vietnam War. Perhaps the the killing of some civilians on our streets today might be the spark to set off a conflagration which will upend Trump’s lawlessness and save our republic. Carrying signs and protesting is fine, but who’s ready to man the barricades?
