HARTLAND โ€” A head-on crash on Vermont Route 12 in Hartland, Vt., killed one man and sent two other people to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries on Saturday afternoon.

Hartland resident Jamison O’Neil, 35, died after his Toyota RAV4 collided with a GMC Sierra truck operated by Joseph Petrone, 77, of Cos Cobb, Conn., according to a news release from Vermont State Police.

The RAV4 was headed south and the GMC headed north when the two collided.

O’Neil, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was declared deceased at the scene, the release said.

Petrone and his passenger, Angela Petrone, 76, were both transported by ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in stable condition. Both Petrones were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, police said.

Windsor County Sheriffโ€™s Department, Windsor Fire Department, Hartland Fire Department and Legendary Towing assisted state police on the scene.

The crash is under investigation, state police ask those who may have witnessed the crash or who have information relating to the crash to call the Royalton Barracks at 802-234-9933.
