HARTFORD — The Selectboard has opened applications to fill a board vacancy created by board member Brandon Smith’s resignation in July.
Applications, which are available on the town’s website, must be turned in to Town Manager John Haverstock by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.
The Selectboard will choose which candidates to interview at a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 19, the body decided in its Tuesday meeting this week.
Interviews will take place in open session at a special Selectboard meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26, while deliberation will be held in closed session.
The board will select the new Selectboard member at its Aug. 26 meeting.
Smith submitted his resignation to the Selectboard in mid July following his decision to relocate to Lebanon. He was roughly seven months shy of completing his first two-year term on the board.
The selected candidate will serve on the Selectboard through Town Meeting Day in March 2026.
