WOODSTOCK — Windsor County residents can learn about the process of homesharing during an open house in Woodstock on July 30.

Representatives from HomeShare Vermont, a South Burlington-based nonprofit organization which helps match homeowners with excess space in their homes with people seeking housing, is scheduled to be at the Thompson Center at 99 Senior Lane in Woodstock from 1:30 to 3 p.m. to discuss the process of applying to be part of a homesharing arrangement.

As part of a homesharing arrangement, homeowners can charge rent, ask for assistance around the home or some combination of both. People who rent pay about $360 per month and assist homeowners with household tasks for an average of 7½ hours per week.

HomeShare Vermont facilitates matches in Orange County, as well as in the Windsor County towns of Barnard, Bethel, Bridgewater, Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, Plymouth, Reading, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon, Stockbridge, West Windsor, Windsor and Woodstock.
