HANOVER — An active shooter drill at Dartmouth Friday will include simulated gunfire and cause traffic disruptions, according to a Dartmouth spokesperson.
The drill is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. will be in Dartmouth’s Carpenter Hall and will include Dartmouth’s Office of Safety and Security and Upper Valley Emergency Services.
North Main Street from the Blunt Alumni Center to Webster Avenue will be closed from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Traffic to and from Webster Avenue should use Maynard Street to avoid the closure and traffic coming into town from the north, like via Lyme Road, should use North Park Street or College Street, according to a post from the Hanover Police Department.
Traffic on Tuck Mall will be allowed with a detour and traffic from the directions of Vermont and Lebanon won’t be affected.
Pedestrian traffic will continue but “access to some areas may be limited,” the Police Department reported. These areas will be marked with signs and barricades.
